MP Jim faces op

Canning Town & Poplar MP Jim Fitzpatrick will have a neurosurgical operation next month.

It is planned for December 15. This means his staff will cover his advice surgery on December 18.

Mr Fitzpatrick said: "In nearly 13 years I've only missed about ten surgeries, but I know my team are excellent."

The surgery will be at his office in Trussler Hall, Poplar.

He has suffered from a condition called trigeminal neuralgia for more than ten years and the operation is now recommended.

The MP will be out of action for a few weeks.
