Library shuts to open new chapter

14 July 2009
STRATFORD Library is undergoing improvements to make it more accessible to the wider community.

The improvements, under the Disability Discrimination Act, will see electrical and PA systems upgraded and installation of a visual alarm system for people with hearing impairment.

The works are scheduled to take about a month, but Neweham Council say disruption to services is being kept to a minimum. The library will be closed on Sunday and Monday; Sunday, July 19 and Monday, July 20 and Sunday, July 26 and Monday, July 27.

It will be open from 8am-8pm every Tuesday during this period to make up for the closures.
