TODAY'S Remembrance Sunday services will be honouring those who died in conflict.
Mayor Sir Robin Wales will be joined by Chief Executive Joe Duckworth and police Borough Commander Simon Letchford beside the cenotaph in East Ham. Those attending meet at Newham Town Hall, Barking Road, before marching to Central Park at 10.30am.
The winners of the Recorder and British Legion poetry competition will read their poems with Editor Colin Grainger.
Newham's Executive Director for Resources Bob Heaton and council Chair Cllr Amarjit Singh attend the North Woolwich and Silvertown ceremony at St Mark's Memorial, Factory Road. A parade starts from the Royal British Legion, Constance Street, at 10.30am.
Kim Bromley-Derry, Newham's Executive Director for Children and Young People, and Deputy Mayor Cllr Christine Bowden will be at All Saints West Ham Parish Church. The Rev Stennett Kirby will lead a special service starting at 10.30am.
The borough's Executive Director for Regeneration, Planning & Property Clive Dutton and the council's Deputy Chair Cllr Michael Nicholas will be at St Luke's Memorial, Tarling Road, Canning Town. The Rev David Wade will lead the service.
Finally Cllr Unmesh Desai, Executive member for Community and External Affairs, attends a service at Upton Park prior to West Ham United's match against Everton.
