Ex-spy chief's Games mission
03 November 2009
OLYMPIC security arrangements are being reviewed by ex-Intelligence chief Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones at the request of Conservative Leader David Cameron.
Baroness Neville-Jones is working with police and security authorities to check that counter-terrorism precautions are as effective as possible but also that the costs do not spiral out of control.
The security budget currently stands at £.5billion, having tripled in four years.
The Baroness is a former Chairwoman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, which supervises the work of MI5 and MI6. She has been a Shadow security minister since 2007.
